Dressing up in December

One of my favorite things about this month has been dressing my girls up.  I love it.  I don't like to dress myself very much, I much prefer to wear work out clothes on the days I'm not working.  Perhaps that's because I take out all of dressing up energy on these two.

Here are the girls before Dad's work party.

Briz before tithing settlement.

After Church one Sunday in December.

My girls also really enjoy getting undressed, in particular for bath time.  Briz may end up taking baths until she is 10 because they have so much fun together.  But that's totally normal right?

And Nick is always finding moments to bond with this girls.  Him and Wembley already have a special relationship.  She completely lights up when she sees her dad and always wants to make dad proud.  She loves touching his face and giving him a lot of kisses.

Busy gal

December was a bit of a whirlwind.  We were extremely busy, but perhaps the most busy person of us all was Briz.  She had a blast the whole month.

We had two Christmas parties in our ward.  First an adult one, and then one that was geared towards the kids.  We had a really scrumptious breakfast and then the kids put on a talent show.  Briz danced with her friends Emi and Blair to the nutcracker.  And then Santa came!

Briz and Piper tagged along with their moms to a Cage the Elephant concert.  It was such a fun show.  Briz was very into it.  They had fun dancing together and sitting on our shoulders.

Love doing fun things like this with her.  When she doesn't have an attitude, we are great pals.

Briz went to Lila's - a new friend from school - Frozen birthday party.

She sang with some friends at a retirement home.

We had some more playdates.  Here are Briz and Blair doing some fingerpainting.

We went over to the Marsh's for dinner and gingerbread decorating.  They underestimated Nick's intensity when it comes to creating/decorating gingerbread houses.  He was in his own world while I helped Briz and played with the kiddos.

A couple days before Christmas, Brizzy met 5 friends at the Nutcracker.  I was really bummed that there was no orchestra but either way Briz loved it.  During the second half, her and Briz kept trying to figure out which one was the sugarplum fairy.  And at one point Briz got up and started dancing along.

This is perhaps my favorite pose.  The classic junior high dance pose.  Briz is obviously the boy.  She's got the stance down.

We hung out with friends a lot.  And during that time Wembley of course got harassed.  She's a bit of a wimp so I think it's good for her.    Everyone takes turns holding her, tickling her, talking to her extremely close up.  Briz truthfully doesn't bug her too much, so Wembley isn't used to it.

Nick's 33rd

Nick turned 33 on the 19th.  For some reason we both agreed that this age felt really old.  Don't know why exactly.
Brizzy of course insisted that we make him breafkast in bed.  So we made him breakfast and had him open presents.  I got him a tool set and a packers hat and sweatshirt.

He took the day off of work and so we got to go to Brizzy's christmas party where they decorated Gingerbread houses.

Chopped

One day we decided to join dad for lunch.  We of course went to Brizzy's favorite restaurant, "Red Robins."

Then after, we went and cut Brizzys hair.  I normally cut her hair myself but I had a $6 coupon for Great Clips.  I was really bugged because they cut it much too similar to a mullet then I would have liked.  She cut it short in the front and longer in the background.  I should have just cut it myself.

So I did.  I cut off a bit more and tried to get more of the A line bob that I wanted.   I have now learned my lesson.  Sometime cheap is just not worth it.

She has been begging me to cut her hair for a few months now, and I finally gave in.

Brizzy loved her scarf for the month of December.  She wore it all of the time.

Nick's Woodshed

Since purchasing and renovating our house, Nick has turned into quite the craftsman.  We still have a lot of projects that we want to do on our house, but in December Nick randomly decided to build a woodshed for outside.  This is just the beginning of it.

Christmas Dance Recital

I was able to watch Brizzy in her two dance recitals.  It was so fun watching her just have a blast dancing.  She is in a type of dance called Creative Dance, which means there's a lot of free style, a lot of singing, and a lot of costume changes.  I loved watching not only Brizzy but all of her funny little friends.  Wembley particularly loved watching her big sister.

Christmas Begins!

The day after Thanksgiving we took a trip out to go see Santa.  We picked up a few extra kids for more fun.

Behind Brizzy is Santa's workshop.  Teya spent a little bit trying to rip the fake oversized candy canes off of the house.

We played at the playground and met some random angels floating around.

We then rode the Polar Express.  We sang Christmas songs and yelled Merry Christmas at everyone walking by.  Bri and I sat in the back laughing at all of our goofy kids.

Wembley met Santa and was quite calm.  As it goes, she is pretty happy anytime anyone holds her, so I wasn't too surprised.  But Santa wasn't very interested in holding her.  He also really struggled figuring out her name.

Perhaps my favorite thing was the kids doing some cool dancing to the jazzy Christmas music.  I laughed a lot this afternoon.  Laughing at my kids is one of the best things about being a parent.
